MEET DR. ERIN MALONE

I am a board-certified veterinary medical oncologist with over 13 years of experience in a busy private practice. I graduated as valedictorian from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with a clinical year at Cornell University in 2005. I then pursued a year-long general internship to gain further experience at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview, NY.
My journey into oncology was profoundly shaped by a personal experience—while working as an emergency doctor in Westchester, NY, my cat Sophia was diagnosed with lymphoma. This heart-wrenching event inspired me to specialize in veterinary oncology, leading me to pursue a three-year residency in Medical Oncology at Cornell University.
During my residency, I was honored to receive the E. Gregory McEwen Award for Basic Science research, which further fueled my commitment to advancing cancer care for pets.
These experiences, both as a pet parent and medical professional, have shaped my approach to veterinary oncology - I've navigated the challenges of cancer in three of my own pets. This has only strengthened my empathy and passion for helping others through similar journeys. These personal experiences fuel my dedication to ensuring that pets receive the best possible care, and their families have the support and understanding they need during such a difficult time.
I am passionate about providing compassionate care, helping pet owners understand their options, and ensuring that pets maintain the best quality of life possible throughout their treatment journey.
When I’m not working as a veterinary medical oncologist, I love spending time outdoors with my family. I am fortunate to share my life with my husband, two stepdaughters, two dogs, and two cats.
